• 1) When did you develop an interest in technology? Could you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

  I remember we had an old computer with a CRT screen and my brothers and I took turns playing Super Mario. Later on in high school I really started developing more of an interest in game development and animation.

• 2) What is the technological evolution that has marked you the most, and what do you believe will be a turning point in this field?

  Definitely when Blender released version 2.8. The interface became exponentially more user friendly and polished. A few years after that I decided to change careers and really go after learning Blender. I think the direction of AI will greatly influence the industry. My hope is that in a few years we still have an industry led by human artists with a real passion for the craft.

• 3) Please share more about your speciality, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the field of technology.

  I love animation and game design, specifically using Blender. The technology is becoming more accessible to artists without huge budgets and capital. In the next few years we should see a rise in amazing projects from independent artists and a new level of creativity.

• 4) Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

  I think that a lot of people idolise famous celebrities and we forget that they are also human with flaws. I believe in striving to do the best I can as an individual and I'm personally inspired by my loved ones and my God.

• 5) Could you share an anecdote related to your student days?

  I actually nearly failed computers when I first started doing the subject in school. The next year I did much better because I put in effort and practised consistently. I completely understand when people tell me they struggle with computers but I believe that with the right mindset anyone can succeed in this field.

• 6) What would you say to someone who is tech averse and uncomfortable in front of a screen?

  I think everyone feels that way about something at one point in their life. It's completely understandable when facing something new and alien. The more you make peace with being bad at something and being a little uncomfortable the sooner you will start to see results. Being bad at a skill is just a part of the process. You need to push through that stage in order to be good.

• 7) Do you have any other passions - related or unrelated to computers and IT?

  I love to play competitive video games with my close friends and I also enjoy getting outside to hike with the same friends. Recently I've started doing indoor rock climbing and I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to do exercise and socialise with new people.

• 8) What makes you a Superprof (one that artificial intelligence could never replace)?

  I care deeply about the success of my students and that's why I always try to tailor my style and pace to each student. I'm always encouraging my students and reminding them that they can succeed if they persevere.
