As a native speaking Chinese tutor with over a decade of teaching experience, I believe that my approach to tutoring is focused on ensuring that my students develop a deep understanding of Chinese language and culture. My teaching methodology revolves around a student-centered approach, where I tailor my lessons to the specific needs and goals of each individual student. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable to make mistakes and take risks in their language learning journey.
In terms of my techniques, I use a variety of approaches including conversation practice, cultural immersion, vocabulary expansion, grammar instruction, and real-life scenarios. I find that incorporating a range of techniques keeps my students motivated and engaged, and helps them build confidence in their Chinese language skills. My typical lesson length is 50 minutes, but I am flexible to accommodate my students' schedules and preferences.
I hold a Level 2 A certificate in Mandarin and have extensive experience teaching Chinese. I offer personalized teaching services and volunteer in community organizations. I continuously attend seminars in Singapore and Canada to stay updated on the latest teaching methods and research in Chinese education. My expertise lies in HSK exam preparation, business oral communication, and general Chinese reading. I create tailored learning resources and prioritise professional development to provide effective and up-to-date instruction to my students.
My lessons are tailored to a wide range of students, from school-age children to adult learners, and can be adjusted to fit any level of proficiency.
