About Whitney
Whitney Sanchez has been surrounded by a rich music culture ever since she was born. Having a Portuguese mother and Dominican father made her inherit the rich harmonic and rhythmic flavors from both cultures ever since she can remember. Born in New York City, one of the world’s most vast melting pots, strengthened her perception and musical ear. Educated by her surroundings and family roots, Whitney further developed her skills through participating in private lessons, musicals, gospel choirs, and youth bands. After gaining a degree at the renowned Eugene Lang College, The New School in Culture and Media Studies, Whitney lived in Seville and Paris, before moving to London to achieve a master’s degree at Goldsmiths University. Almost instantly after her move to London, Whitney involved herself in various different musical projects; performing and recording in jazz bands, Latin trios and soul ensembles. Last year during the Covid-19 pandemic, she studied once more and earned a Level 1&2 certification in vocal pedagogy from the LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework. During this time, she also started writing and producing her own original work. Whitney’s teaching approach focuses deeply on connecting your body and soul with your voice: ‘Singing each day brings a calmness that is grounding. It is the practice of being present with my voice and my body, that allows me to express my inner world and soften my inner critic. However, I haven’t always felt this way with singing. In my teens and early twenties, I struggled with confidence and getting out of my comfort zone. This was until I moved to London and motivated myself to perform and create in front of many different audiences. Having gone through various experiences on this journey, I have learned that I love teaching and supporting others to discover their voice, with methods that lead to self-acceptance, compassion, and trust.’ Whitney has been giving voice lessons to children and adults for over a year now, and is excited to teach and connect with all people who are curious to discover their musical ear and voice!

Perfect! Whitney not only gave me the confidence I needed to believe in myself more but also made me learn about the connection with singing and my body. How to use each properly to improve myself and some more amazing thing that I have never learned and knew about! She really made me comfortable and enjoy my lesion through zoom. Thank you Whitney!
Perfect! Whitney was very good at explaining what areas I needed to focus on and gave me suggestions and exercises to work on. She explained things very clearly and the connection with spirituality really helped as well. Knowing what specifically I needed to focus on I was able to improve after just one session!
