About Carlo
Hello! My name is Teacher Carlo, and I am a highly experienced, TEFL-certified ESL instructor dedicated to helping learners of all ages unlock their full potential in English. I hold a bachelor’s degree and bring a combined 13 years of teaching experience to our lessons—including 9 years of proven success in traditional classrooms and 4 years of dynamic online instruction.
Throughout my career, I have specialized in working with two distinct groups: young learners (kids) who need a fun, high-energy environment to build their foundational skills, and adult professionals striving for fluency. One of my core specialties is IELTS Speaking preparation, where I use my deep understanding of the exam criteria to help students overcome nerves, expand their vocabulary, and achieve their target band scores.
Because I have spent over a decade guiding students through the challenges of language acquisition, I bring an immense amount of patience, structure, and empathy to every session. Whether your child is taking their first steps in English or you are preparing to ace your high-stakes IELTS exam, I tailor my approach to meet you exactly where you are. I believe language acquisition happens best through active production, not passive listening. My method centers on the Communicative Approach, meaning every grammar rule or vocabulary word we learn is immediately put into the context of real-world conversations.
I utilize Task-Based Learning, where we use practical, interactive scenarios (like role-playing a job interview, ordering at a restaurant, or debating a current event) to naturally pull out the language you need. I don't just correct your mistakes; I help you understand why a certain phrasing sounds more natural so you can develop an intuitive feel for English.
