About Sage
I am a passionate chess tutor with 7 years of experience teaching high school and college students. I have successfully guided around 250 students, helping them improve their game and develop critical thinking skills. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a fun and engaging environment where students feel encouraged to learn and grow. I focus on individual needs, using tailored strategies to help each student succeed. One of my notable achievements includes helping several students win local chess tournaments. My teaching approach for chess combines **Motivation**, **Problem-solving**, **Communication**, **Integrity**, and **Creativity** to create a rich learning experience. I inspire students by sharing the beauty and strategy of chess, helping them see its value in developing critical thinking skills.
In my lessons, I focus on problem-solving by analyzing different chess positions and encouraging students to think critically about their moves. I emphasize clear communication, ensuring students understand concepts and feel comfortable asking questions.
Integrity is important in my teaching, as I create a respectful and honest environment. I also use creative methods, like games and puzzles, to make learning fun and engaging. Together, we can explore not only chess but also other strategic games like backgammon and checkers, enhancing overall strategic thinking skills.
