About Jisu
Hi! I’m a University of Toronto graduate in Life Sciences with a strong passion for helping students understand and enjoy science and math. I’ve studied in Canada since Grade 10 and completed high school in Montreal, so I’m very familiar with how these subjects are taught in Canadian schools. I offer tutoring in middle and high school Math, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, and I teach in English or Korean depending on each student’s comfort. My teaching style focuses on building confidence through clear explanations and steady practice, making complex ideas easier to grasp. I truly enjoy seeing students gain a deeper understanding of what they’re learning and start believing in their own ability to succeed. Whether it’s homework help, test prep, or reviewing school material, I adapt lessons to each student’s pace and goals. Let’s work together to make learning science and math more approachable ... and even fun!

I begin by identifying each student’s learning style and areas that need extra support, then create personalized lessons that strengthen their understanding and confidence. For memorization-heavy subjects like biology, I incorporate scientifically proven study techniques such as active recall and spaced repetition to make learning more effective and long-lasting. I like to explain ideas in a clear, simple way and use relatable examples to make difficult topics easier to grasp. Whether it’s exam preparation, class review, or catching up on challenging material, I aim to create a supportive and pressure-free learning space where students feel confident asking questions and enjoy the learning process.
