About Apera

Tēnā koutou katoa ko Apera Rangataua Pai āhau he uri tēnei ō Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Rereahu Waikato/Tainui waka me te Tai tokerau whānui. Kia ora to all, my name is Apera Rangataua Pai, originally from Turangi in the King Country but raised in Auckland. I am a former graduate of the University of Auckland. I gained a bachelor's degree in Education through the Huarahi Māori pathway in 2017. Also, last year I was fortunate enough to graduate with a graduate diploma in Business from Auckland University of Technology. With that, I also hold a certificate in te reo Māori me ōnā tikanga from Te Wānanga Takiura ō ngā kura kaupapa Māori ō Aotearoa (2011). I am a former tertiary educator and current business owner who is currently on the postgraduate/masters pathway in business management at AUT. I come to you with a lifetime of te reo Māori experience as I am a native speaker. I was raised in the kura kaupapa system (Māori education) and I want to share our language with anyone who is willing and able to learn te reo Māori. The lessons will be suited to your ability and you should come out with enough confidence and competency to use the reo Māori in everyday interactions. The purpose of my lessons will always centre around the student's ability but also providing the framework to challenge the individual in te reo Māori.
