About Ilina

Hi! I’m a Bachelor of Science student at Monash University. I can tutor in person around Taylors Lakes, Monash University (Clayton), or online!

I offer tutoring for VCE Biology, General Maths and Business Units 1–4, as well as primary school science and English. I make lessons engaging and relatable, and I communicate in a gentle and clear way to students them feel comfortable and confident.

I graduated in 2024 and found my passion for biology through VCE Biology. I have a strong understanding of both the content and the exam techniques required to perform well. I am very familiar with the study design and the nuanced way VCAA expects students to answer questions.

Through my university studies, I’ve continued building on these concepts, allowing me to teach with both depth and clarity.

I’m genuinely motivated by teaching and helping others succeed. I put significant effort into understanding students' needs and then preparing structured lessons, tailored resources, and targeted support accordingly to help each student improve and feel confident :)

About the lesson

My lessons focus on developing a clear and intuitive understanding of the subject. I gain an understanding of where a student is at and their needs, and break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps and guide students through them using clear explanations, active engagement, and supportive communication.

I recognise that many students can feel hesitant to speak up when they don’t understand something, even with tutors, so I aim to create a comfortable and encouraging environment where students feel confident asking questions and learning at their own pace.

Each lesson is tailored to the student’s needs and may include:

Discussing current learning and establishing any confusion
Clarifying key concepts
Working through exam-style questions
Developing strong answering techniques
Building effective study and revision strategies
Providing targeted feedback and support

My goal is for students to leave each lesson feeling more confident and a sense of clarity
