About Jenny

Hello! My name is Jenny - I'm in year 11 and studying VCE at The Mac.Robertson Girls' High School!

Why would I be the right tutor for you?

- I've always found learning a very fun and engaging process and I'd like to nurture a love for learning in others as well - my patience and self-motivation are reflected in the way I teach!

- I've been living in Melbourne for 9 years now, and I've studied at English speaking schools my entire life - it's safe to say I'm fluent in English! I'm happy to help with whatever skill your grade level requires - from reading to writing - I'm more than willing to assist you in developing your English abilities by sharing the knowledge I've gathered through experience!

- Up my sleeve, I have tips and tricks on how to structure and enhance a piece of writing according to its text type - whether it's a creative piece, an informative/analytical essay, persuasive writing etc. I can relay what I've learnt through studying linguistics and literature as elective subjects to further strengthen your writing!

- I'm also fluent in Vietnamese (speaking, reading, writing, listening etc.) so I'd be happy to help Viet students learn English!

- 2 of my students are now in their schools' accelerated learning programs!

- Most importantly, I love learning languages (I'm currently learning 4) and want to guide you through learning English as well as possible so you're equipped with the right skills to express yourself, whether that be through writing, speaking etc.

~ I'm also offering maths tuition on Superprof!

About the lesson

What do lessons look like?

English can be a daunting subject as there are (usually) no limits to how you express yourself - no biggie though! Through lessons, we can figure out how to expand your vocabulary and apply writing techniques to enhance each piece you write! Or if you're needing help with reading - we can gradually develop your reading ability and through a healthy learning pace and advice on each aspect of reading (spelling, pronunciation, vocabulary etc.)!

My approach to tutoring:

Lessons are catered to each individual's needs and reflect a healthy growth in learning the language! Whether you need help with writing, reading - anything English related! - I'd be happy to provide materials, as well as what I've learnt from experience, based on your needs if you're unsure of where to start or what needs working on! Students have full control over what they learn and are welcome - encouraged! - to ask for help with current schoolwork or for assistance in learning higher level topics.

Who, where/how, how long?

I'm looking to tutor students in years 1-9 in libraries around Melbourne CBD or Camberwell and neighbouring suburbs! I'm also happy to travel and do in-home lessons or lessons via webcam! A typical length of a lesson would be 30 minutes - 1.5 hours (completely up to the student).
