About Sophie

With 7 years of experience and nearly 300 students successfully taught, I bring a friendly and structured approach to Guitar tutoring. I work with High School students, College learners, and adults who want to explore music with confidence and enthusiasm.

My teaching philosophy focuses on strong foundations and enjoyable learning. I teach key skills such as strumming, chords, timing, fingerstyle basics, and melody practice. I use simple examples, step-by-step guidance, and real songs to make lessons easier to understand.

One of my proud achievements is watching my students perform publicly for the first time. Many who started with hesitation now play confidently at school programs and small gatherings. Their growth encourages me to keep improving as a teacher.

I make sure students feel comfortable, supported, and excited to learn. My lessons are flexible and adapted to each student’s interest, whether they enjoy soft acoustic music or modern guitar styles. My goal is to help every learner build confidence and find joy in playing guitar.

About the lesson

My teaching approach for Guitar focuses on communication, adapting to individual learning styles, and using practical examples to keep lessons clear and interesting. I believe that a student learns best when they feel understood and supported, so I create an open environment where they can share their goals and challenges.

I begin with basic guitar techniques such as strumming, chord changes, proper hand posture, and rhythm control. As the student improves, we move toward advanced techniques like fingerstyle, scale application, improvisation, genre-specific methods, and performance techniques. I use real-life examples from modern music, classical compositions, and well-known guitarists to explain concepts clearly.

Along with Guitar, I teach related subjects like Ear Training, Music Theory, Tablature Reading, Song Interpretation, Songwriting Basics, and Chord Progression Studies. These subjects help students build a full understanding of music.

Communication is a key part of my teaching. I always adapt lessons based on the student's learning style. For visual learners, I use charts and diagrams. For auditory learners, I use listening exercises. For hands-on learners, I guide them through repetitive practice and real-time corrections.

Each session includes structured practice, small tasks, and helpful feedback. I focus on building confidence, technique, and musical understanding. My goal is to make learning guitar both enjoyable and meaningful, helping students grow at a pace that feels right for them.
