About Yara

While I have experience teaching at the university level, I enjoy working with younger students in my spare time. The problem at school is we are intimidated to ask questions and we are not encouraged to ask as often as we truly want or need. I'm ready for all your questions and will make sure you feel comfortable enough to ask without hesitation. I want you to feel confident at the end and brave enough to ask away in class too. If you don't understand something, it's usually because it is said in a way that doesn't resonate with you. We will find what works for you together and use it in our lessons.

Teaching has always been my passion, so don't be surprised if you feel that I am personally invested in your success and in the development of your confidence!

About the lesson

I believe in the importance of establishing trust and fun in the process of learning.

I like to first meet the student, to establish a rapport, understand their needs and learning style (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, reading/writing, etc). I am extremely patient and love making the process as enjoyable as possible for the student to come out of their shell and feel comfortable asking their questions. I have experience with children aged around 12 and younger as well as with adults in the field of Optometry.
