About Heather
I love teaching and learning language!
Teaching language is about understanding all parts of language; speaking, listening, reading, writing, culture, pronunciation, dialect, colloquial language, tongue twisters, rhymes, fairy tales and so much more.
28 years of teaching, centered in Multilingual Learning and Special Education, gives me a unique ability to modify lessons to meet your needs.
I have lived in Turkey and Belgium. I've taught English to students from diverse language backgrounds and levels.
BA Ed Elementary Education, Special Education Major,
MA Ed TESOL, over 900 hours of continuing education

Lessons based on a Natural Approach to learning language.
Your needs as a language learner are incorporated into each lesson with a combination of direct grammar instruction, written language, spoken communication and reading.
We will build vocabulary that is important to you, your job and/or your travel goals.
A typical lesson will introduce vocabulary in context with grammar background.
We will use journaling to grow as readers and writers. Resources are shared to extend your language development outside of our lesson time together.
