About Peta

I am a veterinary medicine student offering tutoring for everything university related or for students who need help with GCSE and A level Biology as well as writing essays, personal statements, dissertations, CVs and applying for university. Whilst at university, I’ve worked as a widening participation student ambassador meaning that I’ve spent a lot of time teaching students in many different schools. Doing this for the last 7 years alongside studying at university has enabled me to refine my teaching style to really engage students who struggle to grasp certain concepts and make them view their subjects in an entirely different way. I’ve also been a tutor for students applying to university, helping them with personal statements and UCAS applications. Having completed 2 dissertations and several pieces of scientific research at university, I offer my services to university students as well, helping them to read scientific papers, reference and write assignments. Studying an extremely challenging degree has made me proficient in revising effectively and I’d love to give my tips to younger students to help them get the most out of their revision and learning. And most importantly, try to enjoy what they are learning rather than feeling forced to do so. Having completed a degree in Bioveterinary Science and now in my final year of studying veterinary medicine, I have covered a lot of biology over the years so I offer biology tutoring in addition to writing. I’d love to help motivate students to excel in their studies by simplifying complex concepts into more understandable, interesting and relevant ones.

About the lesson

I will run my lessons through Teams and they will be an hour long. I am mostly available after 6pm during the week and at weekends. I will send the student an email with the Teams meeting details, so they can easily join. There, students can share their work with me to read via Teams if they would like. I like to tailor my lessons according to the student's learning style, attention span and motivations. I like to hear what the student would like to get out of the lesson and if they’re struggling with anything in particular as well as hearing how they prefer to learn so we can work together to complement that.

My tutoring will be especially useful for school students applying to university, especially medicine, veterinary medicine and other science- based subjects.
