About Yap
Hi! I’m Kaitlyn I make learning English fun, interactive, and productive. I’m friendly and approachable, but I also make sure every session is focused and useful. Having grown up around people who didn’t speak English as their first language, I understand the tricky parts of learning and know how to explain them clearly. Whether it’s pronunciation, reading, or writing, my goal is to help you learn confidently, stay motivated, and make real progress, all while enjoying the process!

I take a patient and encouraging approach to tutoring, focusing on helping students build confidence in their reading, pronunciation, and writing skills. I use phonics-based techniques to strengthen understanding of English sounds and word patterns, making it easier for learners to read accurately and speak clearly.
Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and learning pace. I like to combine reading practice with fun pronunciation exercises and simple writing activities to reinforce new vocabulary and grammar in a natural, engaging way.
I have experience teaching primary school students in China, where I helped children with limited English backgrounds improve their reading fluency and confidence in speaking.
My lessons are suitable for beginner to lower-intermediate learners, especially those who are starting to develop their English reading, speaking, and writing foundations. My lessons usually run for 1–2 hours, depending on the student’s needs and attention span.
