About Marilou

Standing in a cold practice room at Carnegie Mellon, I realized that classical training is only the start of the journey. I spent 13 years bridging that gap between strict technique and the raw reality of contemporary performance. Today, I work with singers who need clarity in their sound.

My studio has supported hundreds of students through rigorous vocal training. Providing 10.0 diagnostic vocal assessments for every new student remains a pillar of my practice. I genuinely enjoy watching voices find their true home in the body.

About the lesson

Admitting that I cannot make it through a single hour without analyzing a Sondheim score is my honest truth. This obsession informs how I approach pitch control, vibrato, and resonance through the lens of lyrical storytelling and complex musical structure.

Because I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, I integrate technical mechanics like head and chest voice with the dramatic intent required for exam preparation and professional auditions. Technique exists to serve the song rather than just the singer.

We utilize my 13 years of experience to ensure your vocal health stays a priority while we navigate your unique range. If you are ready to dissect your favorite bridge or belt out a tricky phrase, I look forward to hearing you soon. Sondheim would be proud of the progress we make together.
