About Melanie
I earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Pedagogy and have spent the last 11 years working with singers of different ages, abilities, and musical interests. My passion for singing developed through performance experiences, ensemble participation, and years of vocal study. Teaching became a natural extension of that passion because I enjoy helping others discover what their voices can achieve. Supporting students as they gain confidence remains one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.
My teaching approach combines technical understanding with personal encouragement. I believe every voice has unique qualities that deserve to be developed thoughtfully. Lessons are designed to be welcoming, structured, and flexible enough to support individual learning styles. Students receive practical guidance that helps them understand both the mechanics and artistry of singing. This balance creates meaningful and lasting progress.
Outside teaching, I enjoy exploring vocal literature, attending performances, and studying developments in voice education. These interests keep my teaching current and inspiring. Watching students overcome limitations and achieve goals they once thought impossible is deeply fulfilling. I strive to create a learning environment where every singer feels supported and respected. My goal is to help learners develop confidence, skill, and joy in their musical journey.

My singing lessons are built around helping students discover a voice that feels both healthy and authentic. I focus on breath coordination, resonance development, vocal placement, pitch stability, diction, and expressive phrasing through carefully structured exercises. Students are encouraged to explore their strengths while developing greater awareness of how their voice functions. Rather than rushing progress, I guide learners through a steady process that builds confidence and long-term vocal security. Each lesson creates a supportive space where growth feels achievable and enjoyable.
Every learner arrives with different goals, so lessons are personalized to match individual needs. Students interested in auditions receive support with song preparation, interpretation, stage confidence, and performance strategy. Learners seeking personal enjoyment develop technique through practical exercises and meaningful repertoire. I also incorporate listening skills, emotional storytelling, and vocal flexibility work to strengthen overall musicianship. Feedback is constructive and encouraging, helping students recognize improvement while addressing challenges effectively.
My goal is to help students build a lasting relationship with singing. As skills improve, many learners become more comfortable expressing themselves creatively and communicating through music. Lessons encourage patience, self-belief, and artistic exploration. Every milestone is treated as an important achievement. I want students to leave each session feeling energized, capable, and excited about their continued progress.
