About Eleanor
With 22 years of experience in vocal coaching and performance mentorship, I hold a Doctorate in Vocal Performance Science and Pedagogy. My doctoral research explored vocal physiology optimisation, interpretive psychology, and resilience training for professional-level singers.
I believe every voice carries unique artistic potential that flourishes through disciplined instruction and supportive mentorship. My teaching philosophy integrates scientific vocal understanding with creative exploration, ensuring technical development and emotional authenticity evolve harmoniously. Each student receives individualised guidance and a structured progression framework aligned with their artistic goals.
Beyond teaching, I remain actively involved in collaborative performances, vocal research symposia, pedagogical workshops, and repertoire development initiatives. Continuous professional engagement allows me to integrate evolving vocal science and performance standards into my lessons. My singing lessons are meticulously structured to build sustainable vocal technique while cultivating expressive authenticity and artistic confidence. At the beginning of instruction, I conduct a comprehensive vocal assessment evaluating breath coordination efficiency, tonal stability, resonance placement, articulation clarity, register balance, range flexibility, vibrato consistency, and overall vocal health. This thorough evaluation enables me to design a personalised developmental plan that integrates technical strengthening with artistic growth.
Foundational sessions focus on diaphragmatic breath management, posture alignment optimisation, vocal fold efficiency, resonance alignment, and tension-free phonation. Carefully structured warm-up routines gradually expand agility, stamina, tonal consistency, and dynamic range while safeguarding long-term vocal sustainability. I integrate anatomical awareness instruction to ensure singers understand the physiological principles underlying healthy and efficient sound production.
As students advance, we refine register transitions, vibrato control, diction precision, stylistic interpretation across genres, and emotional storytelling through phrasing architecture. Performance preparation includes stage simulations, microphone technique training, audience engagement strategies, and cognitive conditioning exercises designed to manage performance anxiety. Detailed feedback addresses pitch accuracy, tonal shading, expressive communication, and interpretive authenticity. My goal is to cultivate vocalists who demonstrate technical security, artistic individuality, and commanding stage presence in professional performance environments.
