About Shreya

Hello! I’m Shreya, a singer and vocal coach who’s endlessly fascinated by the voice. This fascination led me to pursue a BMus (Hons) in Popular Music Performance and an MA in Vocal Studies at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, London. Both degrees helped me integrate the scientific, creative, and artistic aspects of singing and performing, shaping an approach that values both vocal health and expressive freedom. Alongside my education and teaching, I also perform and work in the studio. This helps me connect practice to performance and real-world experiences, bringing practical insight into my lessons. I believe singing is a full-body, full-heart experience. My approach goes beyond technique, focusing on confidence, connection, and creative expression. Whether you’re preparing for an audition, a performance, or simply want to enjoy your voice, I’d love to help you find your unique sound!

About the lesson

My Teaching Vision:
To support each student’s authentic expression through healthy, functional vocal training, grounded in voice science and guided by care, curiosity, and collaboration.

My Approach & Methodology:
- I take a student-centred approach, tailoring each lesson to your goals, experience, and interests.
- My teaching combines evidence-based methodologies such as MDH Breathing Coordination, Estill Voice Training, and primal sounds.
- I believe that singing is a full-body exercise, so I’m passionate about integrating the voice, body, and mind through practices such as Ideokinesis, Alexander Technique, and somatic work. These approaches not only support the voice but also help ease performance anxiety and boost confidence.
- I also help students develop stagecraft and performance skills, working on emotional connection, storytelling, and stage presence. Drawing from acting methods such as Stanislavski, Chekhov, and Laban Movement, I adapt these musical-theatre techniques for the popular-music context.

My lessons are rooted in evidence-based, science-informed vocal training. I use clear, functional language to explain how and why each exercise works, so you always understand the purpose behind what we’re doing. Every element of the lesson is grounded in research and vocal function, not vague ideas, helping you build lasting skill, confidence, and awareness.

Lesson Format & Structure:
- Each lesson lasts about 60 minutes, available online.
- Sessions typically include warm-ups, technique work, repertoire development, and performance coaching, with time for reflection and feedback.
- I provide personalised guidance and exercises so you can continue developing between lessons.

I aim to create a warm, open, and inclusive space where you can explore your voice safely and build confidence step by step. So whether you’re preparing for an audition, an exam, or simply want someone to hear you sing, come say hi, I’d love to help you on your vocal journey :)
