About Maria

Maria is an outgoing and experienced voice and piano teacher based in Toronto. She enjoys sharing her passion for music with her students. She is a classically trained opera singer and pianist and has been singing and playing the piano since the age of seven. She studied classical voice at both the University of Toronto and the Glenn Gould School, is an elementary-level RCM certified piano teacher and has a grade 9 RCM level in piano. She is also part of the McPhee Artist Development program affiliated with Calgary Opera. She has successfully helped students prepare for RCM voice and piano exams and has prepared numerous students for auditions, including the Phil and Eli Taylor Academy and the Marquee Theatrical Productions. She has taught multiple vocal technique workshops for the Toronto City Opera choir, as well as for the Ontario Cross Cultural Music Society choir in Markham. She enjoys teaching singers who would like to pursue classical singing, and also has ample experience teaching pop and musical theater, given her experience singing in a variety of musicals including Honk, Legally Blonde, and Footloose.

Maria is an outstanding teacher who is patient, dedicated, and deeply committed to her students. She nurtures their musical skills at their own pace, ensuring that each student feels supported and inspired. She is always looking for creative ways to help her students grow musically, whether by encouraging them to attend concerts or by motivating them with engaging materials, plays, and songs.

Her constant search for effective teaching techniques has greatly helped our daughter improve her piano skills. Thanks to Maria’s guidance, encouragement, and thoughtful approach, our daughter has grown not only in ability but also in confidence and enjoyment of playing the piano.
