About Giovanni

Hello! Nice to meet you! My name is Giovanni Adi Kusuma, familiarly called by the name Ivan. I graduated in 2017 from the Linguistics department of English Literature from Sanata Dharma University, Yogyakarta. Although I haven't graduated for a long time, but I've experienced teaching since grade 2 high school. Not professional teaching, but help friends to overcome their confusion in working on English at school. Since college, I have not stopped teaching, but this time is different. If during high school I helped with Grammar, since I was in college I helped in Speaking. I teach you how to train yourself so you can enjoy learning in English, and also how to be confident in English words, because right, you might not be brave or not? Sometimes we are good at a course, but once we meet Caucasians, it becomes groggy and speechless. My routine since college was brought to my career. I once worked at a private English course focusing on Speaking. There I got a lot of valuable experience and memory that might not be described in words. Now, I am trying to build a community of private tutors in English. Our focus remains the same, teaching how to learn English that is cool and not boring. This community is called Leonheart's English, which is located in Klaten, Central Java. This community is still small, but the enthusiasm of community members to teach is huge! That is why, even though I am far apart between Klaten and Tangerang (My domicile is now) I still support to continue developing Leonheart's English!

About the lesson

The method that I use to teach is the Classical method, which is by approaching sentence by sentence, which will be directly practiced in Class. In some topics, there is a possibility that we will learn through media games, such as Jenga, Cards, Flashcards, etc. I am not used to giving Worksheet as homework, because in my opinion, PR is not a way to understand, but memorize. I always teach my students that English is not something to memorize, but it is understood, because by understanding, we can better understand and finally master a language.
