About Bruno

For the past 9 years, I have dedicated myself to teaching guitar to students from various backgrounds and skill levels. I believe that each student has their own unique talents, and my role as a teacher is to help them discover and nurture those abilities. I take great pride in creating a learning environment that is both supportive and stimulating, where students feel excited and motivated to improve. My lessons are a blend of music theory, practical skills, and creativity, with an emphasis on making the learning process both enjoyable and achievable. One of my most rewarding experiences as a teacher was watching a group of my students form a band, collaborate on original music, and perform at local festivals. The sense of accomplishment and growth they experienced was truly special, and it reinforced my belief in the power of music to transform lives. Throughout my teaching career, I have seen firsthand how learning the guitar can boost students' self-confidence, increase their focus, and help them develop a sense of emotional expression. Whether they are learning to play their favourite songs, tackling complex techniques, or composing their own music, it’s inspiring to witness their musical growth. I strive to create lessons that not only teach students how to play guitar but also foster a lifelong love for music and a sense of pride in their abilities.

About the lesson

Guitar is a truly versatile instrument, and as an instructor with over nine years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with students of all skill levels and musical interests. Whether a student is picking up the guitar for the first time or working on perfecting advanced techniques, I take a personalised approach to teaching that meets each individual’s needs and aspirations. With a Bachelor of Music Education, my teaching blends classical foundations with the flexibility to incorporate contemporary musical styles and creative exploration. At the heart of my approach is the belief that every student should feel supported, encouraged, and challenged in a way that fosters growth and enjoyment. I start by ensuring students have a solid technical foundation. Proper hand position, posture, rhythm, and finger strength are crucial to being able to play with ease and avoid injury. Once these basics are established, students are able to play confidently and are equipped to tackle more complex techniques and musical ideas in their own time. After the basics are in place, I focus on tailoring lessons to match each student’s unique interests and musical goals. Whether someone wants to learn their favourite songs, master classical guitar, or explore fingerstyle techniques, I design lessons that are aligned with their passions. I believe that learning guitar should be an exciting and fulfilling experience, and playing the music a student loves makes the process much more engaging. In addition to technical skills, I emphasise the importance of music theory in becoming a well-rounded musician. Theory isn’t something to memorise—it’s a tool to understand and create music. I integrate theory directly into the lessons, whether it’s through analysing a song’s structure, understanding intervals while learning a solo, or studying scales and modes for improvisation. Theory helps students think critically about their music and enhances their playing.
