About Tessa
I am a singing tutor with over seven years of experience and an Associate of Music in Contemporary Vocal Techniques. I love working with young children and early teens who are discovering their voices for the first time. My lessons are creative and playful, using games, movement, and storytelling to teach pitch and rhythm. We practice folk songs, Disney classics, and musical theatre pieces that young singers enjoy. I focus on building stage presence and confidence for school plays and talent shows. My approach helps children feel comfortable on stage and express themselves freely. We work on listening skills and basic vocal technique in a way that feels natural and fun. I believe that learning to sing should be an exciting adventure for young voices. My students learn to perform with joy and enthusiasm. I create a safe and encouraging space where every child can grow at their own pace. Watching a shy student step onto the stage with a smile is my greatest reward. Singing builds confidence that lasts a lifetime. My teaching methodology focuses on developing vocal dexterity and precise control. We will work on runs, riffs, melisma, and navigating complex vocal passages with confidence. I use targeted exercises that strengthen your voice and improve flexibility, much like an athlete trains their body. You will learn to execute intricate embellishments smoothly without straining your voice. I break down each run into smaller parts, practicing slowly before building up to full speed. This method is especially effective for singers who want to add flair and style to their performances. I support students who need to blend their voices with other instruments or lead a group with precision. My lessons focus on making difficult passages feel natural and effortless. We also work on breath control and placement to ensure your voice stays healthy. You will notice improvements in both your range and your ability to handle challenging songs. My goal is to help you sing with grace and musicality in any setting.
