About Senna
I am a guitar tutor with 11 years of teaching experience, combining structured lessons with active performance across jazz clubs, rock venues, and music festivals. I hold an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance, which provides a strong foundation in technique, theory, and musical expression. My real-world experience shapes every lesson, helping students develop improvisation skills, stage presence, and their own unique musical identity. I teach all levels, from beginners to advanced players, covering styles such as jazz, rock, blues, and acoustic. My lessons focus not only on technical proficiency but also on understanding how music comes alive on stage. I mentor aspiring performers and gigging musicians, offering guidance on set preparation, live performance strategies, and connecting with an audience. Students gain confidence in soloing, ensemble playing, and improvisation, while learning to express themselves creatively through their instrument. I use practical exercises drawn from live performance experiences, ensuring lessons are engaging and relevant. Every session is tailored to individual goals, whether it’s mastering complex pieces or preparing for gigs. I encourage students to explore their musical voice and embrace the stage. My teaching approach focuses on helping students grow as confident, skilled, and passionate guitarists. I teach all levels, from beginners to advanced players, covering classical, jazz, electric, bass, and acoustic styles. Lessons combine music theory, ear training, and performance coaching to develop both technical skill and musical understanding. I emphasise personalised instruction, tailoring each session to a student’s goals, pace, and interests. Students learn to read music, understand chord structures, and apply scales creatively. I also integrate modern tools like DAWs, amp simulators, and metronome apps to enhance practice and performance. Through guided exercises, students improve timing, improvisation, and soloing techniques. I provide support in mastering challenging pieces while encouraging exploration of new styles. Whether tackling complex jazz arrangements or energetic modern riffs, I guide students to perform with confidence and expression. I focus on building a strong foundation while nurturing creativity. By the end of lessons, students not only play but understand music deeply and enjoy every step of learning.
