About Melissa
Starting a new language can feel overwhelming at first. You will find that we assess your current level and specific goals during our initial meeting. I utilize mock DELF papers with detailed feedback to help you track your progress.
My 6 years of experience inform how I teach liaison and nasal sounds to beginners. We focus heavily on verb conjugation and writing skills to build a strong base. Conversational fluency is a primary objective for most of my students.
Pronunciation is everything. I keep my feedback direct and actionable.

Completing a BA in Linguistics at UCLA gave me the tools to analyze languages deeply. I suppose the most interesting part of my journey has been living across Colombia, Canada, and Mexico. These diverse environments shaped my trilingual life and my patience as a tutor. My DALF C1 certification helps me guide those prepping for high-level exams like the DELF.
I have taught 299 students over the last 6 years with a focus on being culturally fluent. Teens and adults often find that my articulate style makes difficult topics easier to digest. You will find that I prioritize clear, logical explanations in our sessions. My goal is to ensure you feel supported throughout your entire linguistic journey.
