About Grant
With 9 years of experience in guitar instruction, I offer tailored lessons designed specifically for school students. My teaching approach focuses on developing each student’s unique skills and interests, ensuring that lessons are both effective and engaging. I emphasize building a solid foundation in guitar techniques while also fostering creativity and personal expression. By understanding individual goals and learning styles, I aim to create a supportive environment where students can grow and excel.
My lessons cover a range of specialized topics, including fingerstyle, jazz, and blues. Fingerstyle guitar is a key area of focus, teaching students intricate picking patterns and techniques for a rich, expressive sound. Jazz guitar instruction includes exploring complex chords, improvisation, and the nuances of jazz harmony. Blues guitar lessons emphasize soulful solos, bends, and the distinctive rhythms that define the genre. Each lesson is crafted to cater to the student's interests and skill level, ensuring that they remain motivated and inspired.
Outside of teaching, I have a passion for exploring various musical genres and performing live. I enjoy attending concerts and collaborating with other musicians, which keeps me connected to the vibrant music scene. Additionally, I find relaxation in hiking, which offers a fresh perspective and creative inspiration. These hobbies enrich my personal life and influence my teaching, helping me bring a dynamic and enthusiastic approach to every lesson.
