• Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  Back when I was 14, my father bought a prop guitar (just the one that you could hang on a wall but it was still playable).
  
  I started playing around with it and turns out I could figure out the melodies on my own.
  
  My family thought it'd be a great idea if they'd put me in guitar lessons as I'd otherwise be playing video games on my PC anyway.. and that's how it began.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  I used to be the kid with all the "stupid" questions. I was too shy to ask anything that I thought would invite judgment from people around me.
  
  It took me a long time but as I got good at playing guitar over the last 14 years, I started developing my own curriculum and I thought I could teach it to others.
  
  Over the last 7 years, I was able to streamline the learning process for everyone, especially, for the 14-year-old version of me with the "stupid" questions.
  
  That's why I love teaching.

• How does your work help society?

  All I can say is, I hope it does.
  
  To the people who are tired of the mundane and lifeless work environment, I hope it offers them peace.
  
  To the people with hardships like family responsibilities, I hope it brings them relief.
  
  To the people experiencing isolation, I hope it becomes a way to connect with people.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  I can't think of just one role model but I've been a huge Linkin Park fan ever since I was a kid. Their band is one of the greatest influences in the way I think of music.

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I'm into fitness. I like hitting the gym regularly and playing sports like football. I'm a regular dude who likes to hangout with friends except I have healthier avenues.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  I have several anecdotes from my professional life, but I'd like to share one outside of teaching.
  
  So I'm a live performer in a band (I play guitar and sing). Because I've performed everywhere from weddings to corporate events, I've come across so many kinds of audiences, but I have never seen the kind of audience I'm about to share the story about.
  
  In the early days of my live performance career, I performed at an NGO that helps people with intellectual disabilities.
  
  I've never seen so many people with such pure hearts at the same time.
  
  There were tears of joy in their eyes. They were extremely grateful for us being there. They were so full of love, and even though they may have a hard time functioning in the conventional world, these people helped me open my heart and I've never been more grateful.
