About Ben
With 13 years of experience as a piano tutor, I am deeply passionate about helping students master the art of piano playing. My lessons are designed to cover both piano technique and improvisation, giving students a well-rounded musical foundation. I specialize in music theory and composition, helping students not only perform with skill but also understand the structure and creativity behind the music. My tailored lessons are particularly geared toward school students, ensuring they receive guidance that matches their pace and goals.
I’ve always believed that music is more than just playing notes; it’s about expression and creativity. My teaching philosophy emphasizes the importance of improvisation and composition alongside traditional techniques. By blending these elements, I aim to nurture each student’s unique musical voice, encouraging them to explore beyond the sheet music. Whether they’re preparing for exams, recitals, or simply playing for enjoyment, I strive to make each lesson an enriching experience that boosts both skill and confidence.
Outside of teaching, music continues to be a major part of my life. I love composing new pieces in my free time, often drawing inspiration from nature and my travels. I’m also an avid reader, particularly enjoying books on music history and theory. In addition, I enjoy photography, capturing landscapes and moments that resonate with the emotions I seek to convey through my music. These creative outlets fuel my teaching, allowing me to bring fresh ideas and perspectives to my students.

I emphasize the importance of building a strong technical foundation while allowing students to explore their creativity and personal expression through improvisation.
Each lesson is designed to be a balance of structured learning and creative exploration. I specialize in music theory and composition, integrating these topics into the lessons to help students not only play music but understand its inner workings. Whether we’re working on classical pieces, contemporary songs, or original compositions, my goal is to help students grasp the theory behind the music, allowing them to improvise confidently and compose their own pieces.
In my lessons, I strive to create an encouraging and supportive environment. I believe that learning the piano should be both challenging and enjoyable, with plenty of room for personal growth. I tailor each session to fit the student’s pace and learning style, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated.
