About Tate
With over 8 years of experience teaching guitar, I’ve developed a deep passion for helping students grow musically and creatively. I hold a Bachelor of Contemporary Music with a major in Guitar, which gave me a strong foundation in both performance and composition. I love composing and arranging music for solo guitar as well as group ensembles, always exploring new textures and ideas. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented. I work with school students, hobbyists, and professionals to meet their individual needs and aspirations. Whether you're looking to improve technique or preparing for the stage, I help guide the process with clarity and encouragement. I specialize in scales, modes, songwriting, rhythm training, and stage performance. My lessons are designed to build strong fundamentals while also fostering musical identity. I’ve helped Intermediate and Advanced students gain confidence, refine their skills, and take meaningful steps toward professional work. I encourage creativity and structured progress in equal measure. Let’s begin a musical journey where your goals, style, and expression lead the way.

I align lessons with curriculum goals where needed, while still allowing room for creativity and exploration. Using digital tools like amp simulators, chord diagram apps, and DAWs, I create interactive learning experiences that keep students motivated and on track. I support learners who are starting later in life or stepping into recording and producing their own music. Whether you're picking up the guitar after years or aiming to sharpen your studio playing, I meet you where you are. Progress is tracked with clarity, and feedback is always constructive and practical. I aim to make every lesson a step forward in musical expression and technical growth.
