About Sammy
I respond to messages quickly and I’m easy to schedule with. Lessons happen online over video, which works whether you’re in LA or anywhere else, and I’m comfortable working in Final Draft or whatever you write in. Before our first session I’ll ask what you’re working on and where you feel stuck, so we hit the ground running and don’t waste your time.
I keep feedback honest but constructive — my goal is to make your script better and to leave you knowing exactly what to do next, never to discourage you. Whether you want a one-time read on your pages or ongoing sessions as you build a draft, we can shape it around your goals and your pace.

A typical session is built around your pages, not a generic lecture. We’ll usually start with where you’re stuck or what you want to build next, spend the bulk of the time working through it together — outlining a sequence, breaking a character’s want versus need, troubleshooting a second act, tightening dialogue — and end with a clear, specific assignment so you leave with momentum. If you’re starting from zero, we build from concept and structure up. If you’ve got a draft, we go straight into developmental notes the way a studio exec would read it, but with someone in your corner explaining the why.
What sets me apart is that I’ve worked on scripts from both sides of the desk — as a writer and as a buyer. I co-produced Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and the Knuckles series, was a creative executive at Columbia Pictures (Sony), and I’m currently co-writing a horror feature. I also teach my own screenwriting lab and do professional script coverage, so I know how to teach this, not just do it. And I’m a lifelong genre obsessive — horror, crime, sci-fi — who believes the best screen stories steal everything they can from great fiction.
These lessons are for adult and teen writers at any level: total beginners with an idea, hobbyists who want structure, and working writers prepping a feature or pilot to send out. All genres welcome, with a soft spot for horror and elevated genre.
