About Vaughn

As a passionate musician and dedicated trumpet educator, I am committed to helping every student reach their highest potential through structured instruction, patience, and genuine enthusiasm for teaching. I believe learning music should be a rewarding journey that develops technical ability, creativity, discipline, and self-confidence.

Every lesson is carefully designed to match the student's individual goals while maintaining a balanced approach between technical development and artistic expression. Students receive comprehensive instruction in breathing techniques, embouchure formation, articulation, rhythm, note reading, scales, tone production, finger coordination, flexibility, endurance, range development, phrasing, dynamics, sight reading, ear training, music theory, orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo performance, ensemble playing, and advanced performance techniques.

I also emphasise effective practice strategies, healthy playing habits, listening skills, and performance preparation so students continue progressing with confidence outside the classroom. My greatest reward is seeing students grow into capable, expressive, and enthusiastic musicians who enjoy performing and continue developing their skills throughout their musical lives.

About the lesson

My trumpet lessons are carefully planned to provide a complete and enjoyable learning experience for every student regardless of age or ability. Whether your goal is to perform in a school band, orchestra, jazz ensemble, church group, competition, or professional concert, lessons are fully customised to help you succeed.

Students develop breathing control, embouchure, articulation, tone production, rhythm, scales, note reading, sight reading, finger coordination, and musical expression before progressing to endurance, flexibility, range expansion, orchestral repertoire, solo performance, jazz improvisation, advanced articulation, ear training, music theory, and audition preparation.

With patient guidance, personalised lesson plans, regular progress assessments, and effective practice techniques, I help students become confident, skilled, and expressive trumpet players who enjoy making music for years to come.
