About Jaya
I am a writer and editor who has been teaching English Composition at the college level for more than 2 years. I have taught 300 students so far. Some of them now study at the University of Texas at Austin and UT Dallas. I have 2 master's degrees: one in English literature and one in filmmaking. I worked in television programming from 1995 to 2019. I have also been writing and editing works of non-fiction including books, journals, and blogs since 2009.

I teach English Composition at the college level. I have taught students from the US, Latin America, Africa, South Asia, China, and Europe. My students have had varying degrees of proficiency in academic writing in English. I believe that students learn better when they are involved in the process of learning. So, I facilitate group discussions, small projects, and practical demonstrations. I am a caring teacher and adapt my approach for all levels of student ability.

Details
For students who have not worked with English before and have very poor spoken and written skills, my rate will be $40 per hour. If the student needs to cancel the class, they would need to inform me the previous day. Otherwise they will be charged for the class.
