About Ilana

In May 2023, I graduated from Harvard with a degree in Social Studies and Philosophy. I was awarded and subsequently embarked upon a Fulbright scholarship in Peru, involving environmental legal policy research. Next fall, I will begin my studies at NYU Law. I am also an experienced early-career journalist, having previously worked for Inside Climate News as a full-time reporter and as a regular contributor to The Nation.

About the lesson

I'm a Fulbright Peru scholar, Harvard graduate with a degree in Social Studies and Philosophy, and incoming NYU Law student with significant tutoring experience and a career in journalism. I'm passionate about helping students from all backgrounds understand and employ the power of the written word to achieve academic and professional success. In the past, I have worked with numerous high school seniors through the college essay-writing and application process. I have also tutored high school and middle school students in general and English literature essay-writing, as well as in creative writing. I am also available to tutor students in journalism. My approach to tutoring is collaborative and conversational. I tailor my approach to every student and seek to understand how we can best work together to achieve their goals.
