About Sebastian
I am a guitar teacher with over eleven years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Guitar Emphasis. My focus is on songwriting, composition, and artist development, helping students transform their musical ideas into fully realized songs. I guide learners in building a personal style, crafting original music, and recording their own tracks. I mentor aspiring singer-songwriters and independent musicians, providing practical tools to develop their unique voice. Lessons combine technique, theory, and creative exploration to make learning both productive and inspiring. I encourage experimentation with chord progressions, melodies, and lyrics, helping students express themselves authentically. Through guided exercises, I help students understand song structure, harmony, and dynamics while nurturing their confidence as artists. Recording sessions and composition projects allow students to hear their growth and refine their sound. I tailor each lesson to individual goals, whether creating new music, improving performance skills, or producing demos. My aim is to support students at every step, from initial ideas to finished songs. I love seeing learners turn inspiration into music that reflects their personality and creativity. My teaching approach focuses on helping students learn guitar in a structured, enjoyable, and practical way. I emphasize developing proper ergonomic technique to prevent strain and play comfortably for long sessions. Lessons cover open chords, power chords, and finger dexterity exercises to build strength and precision.
I integrate ear training and music theory, including Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature, to help students understand the structure behind the music they play. This makes learning songs easier and enhances creativity. I focus on tailoring lessons to each student’s goals, whether they want to play fingerstyle, worship music, or explore other genres.
I break down difficult techniques into simple steps and practice them gradually, helping students gain confidence in their playing. Lessons include both practical exercises and fun, interactive pieces to keep motivation high. I support learners in improving sight-reading, improvisation, and song arrangement skills.
Students are encouraged to experiment with style, dynamics, and rhythm, developing their unique musical voice. I provide guidance, feedback, and structured practice plans to ensure steady progress. My goal is to help every student excel, enjoy playing, and develop a lifelong love for the guitar.
