About Alice
I am a lifelong crafter, I’m always making *something* and have gotten pretty good at a wide variety of mediums along the way. When I taught myself to knit in 2003, though, something clicked - fiber arts just made *sense* to me in a way that few other things did! Along the way I have test-knit patterns for well-known designers, been a technical editor for an indie designer, published patterns of my own, entered my knits into multiple fairs and events, and even placed 5th in a speed knitting competition! I have also tutored dozens of students from their first stitches to their first full garment, and have taught workshops on how to “read” your knits for better troubleshooting. My personal specialties include fine lace knitting, complex cables, and improvising garments with scrap yarns - one of my improvised scrap sweaters was recently shown in an art gallery, a lifelong dream of mine!
