About Mark

Hello, my name is Mark! I am a year 12 student at Hillcrest Christian College. I have collected full marks on IA1, IA2 and IA3 assignments in Year 12 Physics and Maths Methods. In 2023, I've topped Year 10 Methods.

Regarding professionalism, I began gaining experience by volunteering to tutor grades 6-8 at school. For the past year, I have tutored three kids ranging from grade 6 to 9. The grade 8 student whom I tutored in person went from averaging D’s to B’s in three months of weekly sessions.

While some of the older tutors on this site might boast years of experience, I bring something just as valuable: fresh enthusiasm and a positive attitude kids can relate to. Complicated math concepts can feel intimidating, but with my fun and engaging approach, learning becomes an adventure, not a chore. Don’t get me wrong, I also possess a belt full of proven strategies, fresh knowledge and meticulous proofreading that I will share, but a student who’s enjoying themselves is way more likely to master those tricky skills! After all, no strategy guarantees you a path to an A, but with me, you’ll have fun while you crack the code of math success. Consider me as a personal maths buddy, supporting your kid every step of the way.

About the lesson

My tutoring sessions leverage the knowledge I gained from countless hours of dedicated study. With my 60 or 90-minute online or face-to-face sessions, we’ll focus on exactly what you need to ace your next assignment or exam.

I provide comprehensive and personalised guidance in writing PSMTs (Problem Solving and Modelling Tasks). Additionally, I offer proofreading that includes advice on overlooked mistakes and areas that often result in a ‘lost mark’.

When it comes to exam preparation, we'll go beyond memorisation and focus on building a deep understanding of mathematical concepts. Through positive and supportive reinforcement, you'll feel empowered to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn from them. This isn’t just an extra class outside of school, this is a place of curiosity and growth.

Whether you’re just starting in grade 6 or preparing for grade 11 QCE exams, I have useful resources for all grades. No generic one-size-fits-all approach here.
