About Nella
I am a piano tutor with over 9 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Piano. I offer personalised lessons designed to suit each student’s pace, goals, and musical interests. My lessons focus on chord theory, ear training, improvisation, and performance skills, helping students develop both technical ability and musical creativity. I work with students of all levels, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced learners working toward mastery. I have experience teaching a variety of styles, including classical, jazz, and contemporary genres. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and focused on making learning enjoyable while building confidence. I encourage students to explore their musical voice, experiment with new ideas, and express themselves through the piano. Each lesson is tailored to balance structured practice with creativity, ensuring steady progress and lasting motivation. I am passionate about helping students grow both technically and artistically. My teaching approach focuses on making piano learning structured, creative, and enjoyable. I guide students from beginner to advanced levels, ensuring they understand both practical skills and music theory clearly. I cover classical techniques, improvisation, composition, and repertoire building to create well-rounded pianists. I also prepare students for exams such as ABRSM, Rockschool, and A-Levels, focusing on technical accuracy, sight-reading, and performance confidence. Lessons include history and context of pieces to deepen understanding and appreciation of music. I emphasise creativity by encouraging students to compose, improvise, and explore their own musical ideas. I work closely with students who aim to excel in performance or creative projects, supporting their growth with personalised guidance and feedback. My approach balances disciplined practice with fun, interactive exercises to keep motivation high. I tailor each lesson to the student’s pace, goals, and preferred styles, whether jazz, pop, classical, or contemporary.
