"Scales and modes are often considered dry by younger players, yet these foundations remain essential for real creativity. I spent 12 years gigging through the Sydney and Melbourne indie scenes while teaching students the ropes of songwriting and acoustic technique. My experience covers blues progressions, power chords, and improvisation for roughly 1000 students who want to sound like their heroes.
Learning guitar should feel like a natural extension of your own musical taste. I focus on simplifying complex chords into patterns that feel right for students aged 10 to 14. Whether it is grade exam prep or mastering tricky strumming, my self-taught path informs how I translate technical demands into accessible indie rock moments."
