About Julian
I am a dedicated guitar tutor with over 12 years of experience, specialising in teaching college students. I believe that learning guitar should be both fun and meaningful. My teaching style is flexible and student-focused, allowing each learner to grow at their own pace. I use real-life music examples, creative exercises, and interactive methods to keep lessons engaging and effective. I also focus on problem-solving to help students overcome technical and musical challenges with confidence. I bring in different music styles—like rock, jazz, classical, blues, and more—so students can explore and find what inspires them most. I encourage students to express themselves through music while helping them build strong fundamentals in technique, rhythm, and music theory. Along with guitar, I can also teach related subjects like bass guitar, acoustic and electric styles, and songwriting. My goal is to make every student feel confident, creative, and connected to the music they play.

My teaching approach for guitar is flexible and personalised to match each student’s pace and goals. I understand that every learner is different, so I adjust my lessons to fit their needs, whether they are beginners or advanced players. I focus on problem-solving, helping students overcome challenges with techniques, rhythm, or music theory in a clear and supportive way. I bring cultural sensitivity into lessons by including music styles from different backgrounds, helping students connect with the guitar in a meaningful and diverse way. I also encourage accountability, guiding students to stay motivated and consistent with practice while celebrating their progress. My goal is to create a learning environment that is enjoyable, respectful, and goal-oriented. In addition to guitar, I also teach related subjects like music theory, bass guitar, and acoustic or electric styles, helping students build a strong and complete musical foundation.
