Language instruction is rarely about memorizing vocabulary lists. I teach because I prefer the messy, creative process of building fluency through conversational practice and writing skills. Many students struggle with phrasal verbs, but these are actually the keys to sounding like a native speaker. My work often involves accent softening to help business travellers and professionals gain clarity.
I hold a BEd from the University of Ottawa and have coached 417 students during my career. Adult learners and intermediate students often find my approach to business English quite refreshing. It is interesting to see how different people approach grammatical logic. I really enjoy helping people find their own unique voice in a second language.
