About Kaira
I am an MPhil Chemistry graduate with over 4 years of teaching and research experience, specializing in the fascinating intersection of chemistry, art, and cultural heritage preservation. My passion is helping students understand how scientific principles reveal the composition, history, and preservation needs of valuable artworks, artifacts, and historical materials worldwide.
In my lessons, I explore topics such as pigment analysis, material degradation, and conservation treatments through engaging case studies and historical examples. I introduce analytical techniques including spectroscopy and chromatography, showing how scientists investigate material changes over time. Ethical restoration practices are also discussed to provide balanced perspectives.
