About Valerie
With over 12 years of experience, I specialize in teaching guitar to college students, focusing on helping them develop both technical skills and a deep passion for music. My teaching style is hands-on and interactive, using real-life examples and popular music to make learning fun and relatable. I encourage creativity and self-expression, adapting lessons to each student’s learning pace and interests. I also incorporate innovative methods like music theory breakdowns, ear training, and improvisation to enhance their overall musical ability.

My teaching methodology for guitar is designed to be engaging and practical, using real-life examples and case studies to help students connect with music in a meaningful way. I focus on communication, encouraging students to express themselves through their instrument and build confidence in playing. I believe in flexibility, adapting each lesson to suit the student’s learning style, pace, and goals, whether they are a beginner or an advanced player.
Integrity is key to my approach—I build trust with my students by offering honest feedback and support throughout their learning journey. I incorporate creativity into lessons, using different styles and genres like classical, jazz, rock, and blues to keep lessons fresh and exciting.
In addition to guitar, I also teach relevant subjects such as music theory, ear training, and songwriting, providing a well-rounded musical education. My goal is not just to teach guitar but to inspire students to explore their musical potential and develop a lifelong love for music.
