About Yara

I am a guitar tutor with over 11 years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities, including those with learning differences such as ADHD, dyslexia, and anxiety. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music (Guitar) and have a strong background in music therapy and special education, which shapes my adaptive and student-focused teaching approach. I use strengths-based methods to help each learner build confidence, skill, and a love for music. Lessons are tailored to individual needs, blending technique, theory, improvisation, and repertoire that resonates with the student. I create a supportive environment where students feel safe to experiment, make mistakes, and grow at their own pace. My teaching emphasizes understanding each learner’s unique challenges while highlighting their abilities. I focus on developing foundational skills, creative expression, and performance readiness, helping students of all levels achieve tangible progress. Technology, personalized exercises, and engaging practice routines are integrated to enhance learning and motivation. I take pride in helping students not only play guitar but also find joy, self-assurance, and a sense of accomplishment through music. About the lesson

My guitar teaching approach is built on helping every student grow in both skill and confidence, no matter their style or level. I focus on creating a strong foundation through essential techniques like chord work, scales, fingerstyle, strumming, and rhythm training. Alongside technique, I integrate music theory to help students understand harmony, melody, and song structure in a practical way.

Lessons are structured but flexible, allowing room for creativity and personal expression. I make use of modern tools such as digital tuners, backing tracks, and recording apps to make practice more interactive and enjoyable. Each session blends hands-on playing with guided exploration, encouraging students to develop their own sound and musical identity.

For those passionate about classical precision or modern performance, I provide clear pathways to refine their tone, technique, and stage presence. I teach how to read tablature and sheet music, understand modes, and use improvisation to expand musical freedom.

My teaching emphasizes consistent progress through goal-based learning and personalized feedback. I support students in mastering both technical and expressive sides of guitar playing. Ultimately, my goal is to help every learner play with confidence, creativity, and a deep love for the instrument.
