About Angela

What I offer: Structured lessons tailored to your individual needs. From absolute beginner to experienced artist. My background: 20 years of teaching experience and 10 years teaching Art in a Secondary school gives me the experience to deliver concise and well thought through lessons that build your confidence and empower you to evolve your own style. I have taught beginners to become professional artists and students to go on to gain Masters degrees. As a practising artist for over 30 years, I have a deep awareness of the creative process and how that fits with learning and will tailor your lesson and modify as we progress to suit you as you develop. Constructive and practical feedback. I am kind, fair and intuitive. Painting is my self-expression, my therapy, playtime and a spiritual connection. I love teaching Art and seeing the transformation it makes; finding that spark within. I am fascinated by coaching art, celebrating the uniqueness of each person and how a subject can be interpreted so many ways.

About the lesson

I have 10 years' experience of teaching Art in a secondary school and working as a GCSE Art examiner- so I am ideally placed to tutor Art GCSE. As a practising artist for over 30 years, I understand the emotional and practical elements of creating. I have taught privately for the past 10 years to adults and children, from beginner to experienced and professional. I can teach various disciplines; watercolour, acrylic, oils, drawing and mixed media. My experience brings a holistic and deep understanding of key techniques and ways of seeing that are required to take your skills to the next level. My lessons are carefully structured and well explained using examples, live demonstrations and also plenty of verbal discussion and questioning. I enable you by giving you the space to follow your innate voice whilst discussing and exploring the impact of your choice. This allows room for you to develop your own style and confidence.
