I tailor my tutoring sessions to the unique needs of each student, emphasising a mix of visual aids, interactive exercises, and real-world applications. I often take on mnemonic devices, analogies, and practical examples to simplify complex concepts. I encourage open dialogue, asking probing questions to stimulate critical thinking and deeper understanding. Additionally, I integrate technology where beneficial, using online resources and educational tools to fortify learning.
My lessons typically run for about 60 to 90 minutes, allowing ample time for focused learning without overwhelming the student. I find this duration strikes a balance, providing enough time for meaningful instruction and practice while avoiding cognitive overload.
I hold a Graduate Diploma in Teaching from the University of Auckland in English and Social studies. Additionally, I have 6 years+ of teaching experience, working with students ranging from 7 to 18 years. My experience spans various learning environments, including one-on-one sessions, small group settings, and classroom teaching, which has honed my ability to adapt to diverse student needs.
