Tyler is an incredible artist because he has a wonderful welcoming presence. All are safe when in a studio with him. He's pure good vibes! He would set a great mood and let me be my most authentic self when I took a 8 week program with him as my teacher. I could not recommend him enough!

Tyler is an incredible teacher! He helped me prepare my portfolio to apply for art school and then tutored me over the next two years until I completed my Associates Degree. He taught me fundamental techniques and skills in drawing, painting, perspective, and we worked in every medium - oil, watercolor, pastel, charcoal, pencil. Tyler is steady and balanced, with an amazing ability to complete projects in a timely but thorough fashion. I could not recommend him more!!

I took beginner drawing with Tyler in Brooklyn. He was such a vibe! He would give individual pointers, which I really appreciated, and if we got stuck, he would take the time to show us why, even drawing it again with us. I found myself scribbling his quotes in my notebook because he had great nuggets about drawing and storytelling in general. He was also open to our own unique interests. For example, I’m interested in comic writing, and when I asked about it—though there are separate classes for comics—he gave me the basic rundown. Most importantly, making art was fun and relaxing because of his grounding presence.

I highly recommend Tyler! I had the opportunity to take both his Drawing and Oil Painting classes, and they were an incredible learning experience. He is extremely patient, knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to explain techniques in a way that’s easy to understand. Whether working with beginners or more experienced students, he creates a supportive environment where everyone feels comfortable asking questions. I would love to take another class with Tyler in the near future.
