About Tessa
"Music theory, songwriting, ear training, chord transitions, and scales and modes are the foundations I rely on to guide my instruction. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Melbourne and spent 13 years performing in the Australian Latin music scene. These 11 years of experience have helped me support many self-taught adults and intermediate players who are feeling stuck. My approach is friendly and patient while being deeply rooted in the practical realities of the industry.
Sometimes I think about how much clearer things were when I first picked up the instrument. I am here to help you bridge those gaps in your technique. It is a slow process that requires steady hands and a clear mind. I just want to keep the music moving forward."

"Sitting down to play feels most rewarding when you finally understand how a complex chord transition actually works. We spend our time breaking down songs and scales into manageable parts so you can stop guessing what to play next. Adults and intermediate players often find that having this extra bit of structure helps them enjoy their practice sessions much more.
My 11 years of experience mean that I have heard almost every common mistake a learner might make. I try to keep the atmosphere relaxed as we work through your specific goals. It is a quiet way to get better at your craft."
