About Monica

My name is Monica, and I've been teaching English for over five years. It started as something I loved doing on the side — and honestly, it still feels that way.

I have a degree in Education, so I understand how people learn, not just what to teach. That makes a real difference when you're working with students who have tried other methods and still feel stuck.

I'm based in the Philippines, where English is a huge part of daily life. I grew up using it naturally, which means I teach real, everyday English — not the stiff textbook kind.

I'm high energy, I keep things fun, and I genuinely care about every student I work with. Five years in and I still love that moment when a student who could barely introduce themselves starts holding a full conversation without even thinking about it. That's what keeps me going.

Hi, I'm Monica! I studied Education and honestly, teaching English — especially the speaking side — is something I genuinely love doing.

Here's something I've noticed: most people who struggle to speak English actually know more than they think. The problem isn't vocabulary or grammar. It's nerves. It's that moment where your mind goes blank the second someone asks you something in English. I get it, and that's exactly what I want to help you work through.

My lessons don't follow a rigid script. I get to know you first — how you learn, what makes you comfortable, what you actually need English for — and we go from there. Some sessions feel like a casual chat. Others are more focused, maybe practicing a job interview, ordering food, or just learning how to small talk without it feeling awkward. Whatever helps you, that's what we do.

A typical lesson usually starts light — just talking, getting warmed up — and then we work on something specific together. I'll point out things you can improve, but gently. Nobody learns when they feel embarrassed every five seconds.
My lessons are for everyone. Absolute beginners, people who are somewhere in the middle but can't seem to get the words out, and even advanced learners who just want to sound more natural. If you want to use English in real life — for travel, work, or just everyday situations — you're exactly who I had in mind.
