About Gerald
Sitting down for a session feels like opening a conversation where the guitar does most of the talking, especially when we tackle power chords or acoustic technique. I often find myself explaining how a specific chord transition fits into a larger songwriting project right in the middle of our practice. Teens and adults benefit from my Bachelor of Arts degree as I incorporate reading tabs and sheet music into our sessions. It is quite common for me to demonstrate a rhythmic strumming pattern before we adjust your posture for better resonance.
I enjoy showing students how to care for their instruments through regular tuning and maintenance. My approach emphasizes the feeling of the music rather than just the mechanics of the notes. You will find that our time together centers on building a solid foundation for your playing style. I look forward to hearing the sounds you create in our upcoming studio time.

Music captured my attention early on while I was navigating the vibrant soundscapes of Colombia, leading me to pursue a formal degree at the University of Melbourne. Why would someone spend so much time learning the nuances of a fretboard if not to share that joy with others?
Over 13 years, I have helped countless individuals discover their own musical voice through the strings. My background blends the technical rigor of classical study with the soul of folk traditions.
