About Aila

I am a young student from India who has lived a rich life in different places across the country. I love working with people through creative learning methods that are set in their cultural contexts! I believe that education is not limited to your textbooks but extends into your real life. To truly understand something, one must observe and be a good listener.

About the lesson

Since sociology is a subject that attempts to study society, I prefer using a conversational method to understand concepts. I usually start with unravelling the layers of one's own geography, history and economics to understand their relationship with their local and global. As we go forward, we will look at various texts and understand their relevance in contemporary times.

Aila has been my College mate for the past three years as we studied sociology. Being her classmate I have noticed the passion she has for sociology and anthropology. She has a deep and clear understanding of the theories which has helped me alot in my own readings. Apart from getting a perfect hang of the subject she is patient and empathetic which really makes her a great teacher. I have relied more than once on aila to teach me however her enthusiastic interest in the subject made me be enthusiastic about the same!
Of all my peers I'd recommend her the first for a job profil such as this!
