About Hyesu
I am a recent graduate from the University of Washington. I have a bachelor of science in Applied Computational Mathematical Science.
I discover the joy of teaching when I had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant at the University of Washington for a Java programming course, where I taught for 3 consecutive quarters.
During a pandemic, I worked at Read101 (English academy that is located in South Korea) as a temporary English tutor for three months.
From these teaching experiences, I discovered my own teaching technique and ways to make an enjoyable experience for the students.
My goal in teaching is always to help students find fun in a specific subject. I believe that anyone can have fun in any subject.
It is extremely frustrating when something does not make sense. Sadly, many students consider this experience as proof that they are "not good" in the subject. This is certainly not true. As a tutor, I want to be there with students when they are stuck or frustrated, so there they don't get discouraged by "getting stuck". After all, "getting stuck" is just a learning step and students shouldn't be stopped by them.

I will customize my teaching technique to students so they can learn the most out of lessons.
I can go over course materials and help students with a better understanding of mathematical concepts.
If students need help with school homework, I am more than happy to help.
The typical lesson plan for 60 min lesson would be like the following :
- Course intro, today's plan (5 mins)
- Going over homework (10 mins)(only if students prefer to have homework)
- New material + explaining with two or three hands-on questions (40 mins)
- Review + assigning homework(5 min)
